Can I get any help while I’m waiting?
Yes. Even while you’re on the home care package waitlist, you can access other support like CHSP, or download our local guide to access free care in the Mornington Peninsula.
What does my priority level mean?
Can I speed up the process if my needs change?
What happens if my situation gets worse before I get my package?
If your circumstances change—for example, a fall or loss of support—you can contact My Aged Care and request a reassessment. This might result in a higher priority rating or even a higher package level if needed.
Will someone contact me when my package is ready?
Yes. My Aged Care will issue a “Get Ready” letter approximately three months before your package is funded. It's essential to respond quickly—once assigned, you typically have 56 days to sign the Home Care Agreement (with an extra 28 days possible on request).
